Colt combination tool for the maintenance and disassembly of the Colt 1st Model Dragoon revolver. Identified in the book "COLT ACCOUTERMENTS 1834-1911" by Robin Rapley. Listed on page 151 as type T#9 and listed as extremely rare. This combination tool works as a nipple wrench, screw driver, and spring vise, and is identified as the correct tool for the Colt First Model Dragoon. The First Model Dragoon, unlike its later variations, used a "V"shaped mainspring. This tool was made to remove it for maintenance. PROVENANCE: Robin Rapley. Dr. Robert Pershing Collection, Max Guenthert Collection. CONDITION: Very fine with most fire blue finish remaining with slight period oxidation present. TDW
