Scarce Rising Bite action with concave tapered top rib with ivory mid and steel front beads and have makers name and address on rib with scroll and floral engraving present. Splinter forend with rotary latch release which is scroll engraved and near fully checkered in point pattern and has scroll engraved iron. The action is near full coverage scroll engraved with beaded fences and locks have makers name engraved on sides. Bottom of action with sculpted butterfly wings is also near full coverage scroll engraved. Made with double triggers, auto ejectors, and auto safety. Blued top lever is scroll engraved and "SAFE" inlaid in gold on top tang which is also scroll engraved. Replacement buttstock with tear drop behind action is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist and has long trigger guard tang, gold oval near toe, and terminates with a modern Decelerator brand pad. Housed in a period two gun oak and leather case with makers label. CONDITION: Very good as partially restored. Barrels retain about 80% of what appears to be their original blued finish, toned at grip area and near breach ends. Action has toned mostly gray, engraving is crisp with hints of original color remaining. Replacement stocks are excellent and retain nearly all of their custom finish with minor handling marks. Case is very good with leather drying, scuffs, and various rubs. This is a great Rising Bite gun! JSL
