Standard Third Model, serial number 256959B, manufactured in 1888. 24" full round barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .38-40 caliber Standard Winchester markings on barrel. Beech combination front, standard rear, and Lyman tang mounted sights. Crescent rifle style buttplate. Plain walnut stock and forearm. Plain trigger. CONDITION: Very good with approximately 75% original blue blending with blue/brown patina on frame, barrel, and magazine tube. 10-15% visible case color on hammer, some visible case color on protected areas of lever. Buttplate and forearm cap mostly patina. Wood is sound with moderate wear, dents, and scratches. Decent shootable bore with scattered pitting. Overall an attractive rifle. -MKS-
