Assembled in 1946 using a mix of pre-War and post-War parts, still finished in the full commercial blue before the 1947 Models were introduced with the new non-glare finish making this one of the last full high polish blue .38 Supers ever made. Post-War parts include the serrated arched mainspring housing, serrated slide stop, brown plastic World War II type grips and type III rear sight with beveled edge and square notch. All other visible parts are checkered pre-War type. CONDITION: Aside from a few minor handling marks, a faint drag line on chamber, minor muzzle and a hint of high edge wear, this fine gun retains 98% of the original high polish commercial factory blue. The magazine is all blue with proper stamp. This all blue Post-War was limited to about one year of production before the non-glare finish was introduced making it one of the rarest of all Colt .38 Super models and the condition would be hard pressed to be improved on. It even has the Swartz safety cut-out but not the safety. DB
