This Ithaca was part of the first contract, an order that was placed for 60,000 pistols placed by the government in May of 1942. The finish on all Ithaca models was the dull black Du-Lite finish. The left side of the slide was stamped "Ithaca Gun. Co. Inc Ithaca NY and the left side of the frame has the FJA Frank Atwood acceptance stamp. The left side of the slide has the Crossed Cannon stamp. There is a proof P on left side frame and top of slide. The grips are Keyes style brown plastic. Standard parts include short checkered trigger, type III rear sight with beveled edge and square notch. The arched mainspring housing with loop is checkered. The hammer is checkered with no spur. The magazine is stamped S for Scovill. There is no visible slide temper line. CONDITION: Aside from a scattered handling mark, gun is a solid 99%. DB
