Early Lionel No. 5 has thin-rims, in very tough shape, missing almost all the trim on the boiler, missing boiler front, side rod screw on one side, no side rods on the other side, no motor, broken coupler. The second Lionel No. 5 includes a Slope-back Tender, has a motor, missing the pilot, missing the headlight, missing the railing around the boiler and has much scratching and paint loss, a great candidate for restoration, some dents on the cab roof; the early Slope-back Tender has decent lettering on it, has scratches and paint chips throughout, 10-series truck, hook coupler, good condition. Very rare.
