This is a second generation made in 1957 and class D engraved by world renowned master engraver Alvin White. It is a 7 - 1/2" .38 Special with blue and case color finish. The gun features gold inlay snake on back strap, spurs on loading gate, bleached buffalo head on left side, gold border line on barrel, cylinder and frame. Inscription on back strap "To my friend Roger Conger from Romane Fielding Christmas 1957". The right panel of the ivory grips is carved with a Texas longhorn and inside the right grip panel is etched "A.A.White Eng.". CONDITION: Gun does appear to have been fired and the colors have faded a bit on left side and there are a couple of handling marks but still a solid 98% gun in all respects. The scroll engraving has been cut with deep chisel by hand and is present on every component of this fine gun. Bore and action are near mint. The case is made of hand tooled saddle leather with laced border. Handsome gun and display by one of the finest Colt engravers of all time. DB
