Serial number 102029A, manufactured in 1882. Full octagon 24" barrel and full length magazine tube. Combination fold down front sight, standard rear barrel sight. Chambered in .44-40 caliber. Plain straight grip walnut stock and forearm. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue with case hardened lever, hammer, and buttplate. Plain trigger. CONDITION: Very good overall. 10-15% original blue on frame, balance turned a dark brown patina. Approximately 15+% original blue on barrel and magazine balance turned a dark brown patina. Hammer, lever, and buttplate mostly dark brown patina. Some bright blue remaining on loading gate. Wood shows moderate wear with scattered dents and scratches, forearm has a split running about seven inches along the barrel on left side. Bore is dark with scattered pitting. Overall an attractive rifle in desirable configuration and caliber. -MKS-
