This is a fine example of a first year production Navy, early Second Model with the wedge below the screw. This is the small brass squareback trigger guard with traces of original plating. It features the small cone front sight. It bears all matching serial numbers except wedge, which is not numbered. Total production of this early model is estimated at 2800 units. Frame has the Colt Patent stamp. and Colt barrel address. CONDITION: The naval scene on cylinder is 30% visible. Metal is basically a clean soft patina with no original color or blue visible. Grips are excellent. Rifling is sharp and action is fine. DB
