Serial number 13220 manufactured in 1850. Matching serial numbers on all major components including the wedge and loading lever. 4" barrel marked with two lines "ADDRESS SAM'L COLT / NEW-YORK CITY". Left side of frame marked "COLTS PATENT" 5-shot cylinder with roll die stagecoach holdup scene. Squareback trigger guard. Beveled corners on trigger guard to grip transition. One piece varnish walnut grips. Housed in a period walnut case fitted in the partition style, with "spurious" powder flask, correct brass bullet mold marked "COLTS PATENT" and percussion cap tin. CONDITION: Fine overall with 20-30% blue mixed with brown patina on barrel. Traces of blue on cylinder with strong roll-die scene. Most original silver plating on trigger guard and backstrap. One piece walnut grips are excellent with most original varnish showing little wear. Frame, loading lever, and hammer are mostly a dove grey patina. Case is made for a round trigger guard gun. Exterior is fine showing most original varnish, navy blue interior is bright and clean. Case is from a later period than revolver. Overall a clean honest Model 1849 Pocket. -MKS-
