Serial number 55676 manufactured in 1853. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder, and wedge. 3" barrel with two line address marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK CITY". Frame and cylinder marked "COLTS PATENT". Letter "A" marked on left side of trigger bow, letter "T" marked on right side of trigger guard at grip. Short frame commonly referred to as a "Wells Fargo Model". Period nickel plated with one piece varnished walnut grips. Roll die stagecoach holdup scene on cylinder. Housed in a period deluxe dealer case fitted in the partition style with burgundy interior. Complete with correct powder flask, bullet mold, and case key. Also included is a small shield badge marked "COLT-27-GUARD". CONDITION: Fine overall, with approximately 90% period nickel plating on frame, cylinder, trigger guard, hammer, and backstrap. Barrel appears to have been mechanically cleaned in some fashion with no finish remaining. Barrel address is light. One piece walnut grips are excellent with most all original varnish showing minimum wear. Strong roll die scene on cylinder. Walnut veneer case is excellent overall with a clean bright interior. Powder flask has a nice patina with multiple small dents on both sides. Bullet mold is fair with moderate pitting and no original finish remaining. -MKS-
