The six false-rifled barrels exhibit the finest quality Damascus twist, numbered 1 through 6 and have sparse engraving at the breech. The frames are elaborately inlaid with gold and silver wire outlining the floral engraving. Ring triggers with under hammer unadorned. Case hardened steel buttcaps with capbox engraved with a flower. Plain but well formed dense ebony stocks. CONDITION: Barrels are excellent with all beautiful Damascus patterning clearly visible. Retaining screws at front of muzzle still have considerable bright nitre blue. Frames with no pitting, finished in the bright. All gold and silver wire intact. One pistol with minor erosion, mostly on right side. Stocks of both rate excellent with no significant repairs and only minor marks. Butt traps operate as they should. Some nipples even retain original bluing. One mechanism needs attention. Guns are cased in what appears to be their original French fitted oak case with wine red velvet lining now faded to brown. A remarkable and fine set of large continental Mariette style pepperboxes, sure to please the most discerning collector of oddities or pepperboxes. MZ
