Fine Belgian made copy of the venerable ’51 Navy with 7 - 1/4" rifled octagon barrel with mushroom shaped iron front sight & two line barrel marking “COLT / BREVETE”. It has six shot cylinder with oval “ELG” proof on rear edge between two nipples. Frame is unmarked with serial number on bottom front and front of trigger guard. It has silver-plated brass squareback trigger guard and backstrap and one piece walnut grip with flared butt. Accompanied by its original burgundy (bottom faded to green) velvet lined mahogany casing partitioned in bottom for revolver, a small copper two sided smooth flask with a nutcracker style dual cavity brass mold. Complete with oiler, cleaning rod, and spare nipples. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Barrel retains 93-95% glossy bright original blue with light freckling on right side and edge wear elsewhere. There is a ding at muzzle and some hammer marks around wedge slot. Rammer and handle retain 80-85% faded original case colors. Cylinder retains 50-60% thin original blue with balance flaked to a light patina. Frame retains 60-70% faded case colors, hammer about 75%. Grip frame retains 50-60% strong silver. Grips are sound with a very few minor nicks and scratches and retain virtually all of its original bright varnish. Mechanics are crisp, bore is very good. Screws are fine. Case is fine with light nicks and scratches on lid. Interior is good with moderate fading. TDW
