One of the last pre-War Colt US Army models made in 1941. This gun bears the GHD inspector stamp on left side of frame for Guy Dewey whose inspection duties began in June of 1942, which means this frame was built or numbered in 1941 but did not see final assembly until after June. As such, it wears the parkerized finish common in 1942. It also wears the War era post 1941 parts such as non-spur hammer, serrated arched mainspring housing, serrated slide stop, short checkered trigger, and checkered safety. The grips are Keyes type brown plastic. The left side of the frame wears the crossed cannon stamp. The magazine is stamped L for M.S. Little company. The finish has a faint temper line on slide. CONDITION: Near new as arsenal finished with just a few handling marks and light take down line. Strong rifled bore and crisp action. DB
