Beginning in 1934, the Stevens adjustable target became available, one of which is present on this gun. This is a standard commercial model National Match target pistol made in 1934 and has all standard features for a gun made that year to include checkered wide spur hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing with loop, checkered slide stop and safety. The slide is stamped with matching serial number. It has the Stevens target rear sight. The grips are standard full checkered walnut. The barrel is blued with polished chamber that is stamped Colt 45 auto (not National match). The magazine is typical pre-War two toned tempered with marked blue base. The right side of slide is stamped National Match. CONDITION: The slide shows some high edge light wear and a couple of minor handling marks. The frame has a couple of minor handling marks including a few on front strap and no visible takedown line. Overall, this fine Colt retains at least 98% brilliant Colt original factory blue finish. Bore has sharp rifling and the action is crisp. These pre-War Match pistols equipped with the Stevens rear sight are very rare. DB
