According to the factory letter, this gun was shipped from Colt on January 24, 1913 in a shipment of 10 to Von Lengerke & Antoine in Chicago, Illinois. This gun features the extremely high luster blued finish, with fire blued small parts. Polished to the degree of a piece of fine jewelry. C stamped on the barrel lug along with a 5. "S" marked under the firing pin cover. Type I rear sight with rounded edges and a U notch. Early slide markings with 1911 final patent date. Flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop at bottom. Smooth trigger. Checkered wide spur hammer. Checkered slide stop and safety. Diamond checkered wood grips. Marked on the right side of the frame "GOVERNMENT MODEL". Right side of slide marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE 45". Dual tone double pinned lanyard ring magazine has a Canadian military proof on the bottom and is clearly a replacement. CONDITION: Retains 95% vivid bright blue overall with some finish loss on the front strap, mainspring housing, minor wear at high points and slight slide hold open lever take down drag line. Wood grips are fine with sharp checkering. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Magazine finish is questionable. GR
