Standard configuration for a commercial gun, made without a stock lug. No date above the chamber. "DWM" marked on the toggle. Crown/N proofs as well as two Crown/X proofs on the right side of the slide. This gun also features on the left side of the frame "R.G. 27" engraved. This is the mark of the Reichs Gendarmarie Elass-Lorthingen, Waffe 27. This gun has been documented by Jan C. Still in 2003 by serial number on his Luger forums as a documented gun having this marking. This is one of approximately 272 guns issued to the unmounted police of the French Province of Alsace. This gun is accompanied by a brown leather commercial police holster, marked inside the flap "JULIUS JANSEN / STRASSBURG / 1916". Also marked on the inside of the body "R.G.16." showing that this a correct holster for this gun. There is a separate pouch next to the spare magazine pouch for a cleaning rod. Proper unmarked wood bottom magazine. CONDITION: Retains 98% original finish overall with most of the straw colors. All markings are sharp and clear. Wood grips are fine with sharp checkering. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster has some scuff marks and crazing towards the bottom. Holster appears to have been treated on the exterior at some point with a conditioner. Stitching is solid. GR
