Steel barrels with engraving, once gilded, signed on top flat "H. Allport Cork". The bolted locks with foliate engraving signed H. Allport. The dolphin form hammers engraved en suite with the locks. Metal 3/4 stocks possibly silver as opposed to German or nickel silver. Elaborately engraved foliage and checkerboard pattern. Screws are nitre blue. Plain belt hook. Ramshorn butt with elaborate silver thistle pricker. Ball trigger engraved with expanded flower. Steel ramrod engraved with flower at tip. Pistol (B) in similar condition to the first. CONDITION: Barrel with light pitting with only traces of gilding remaining in the engraving. Locks crisp with crisp engraving and only minor corrosion. Pistol (B) with old repair to hammer spur. Stocks on both pistols in relatively good condition with little wear. Screws are reblued. Blued belt hooks retain some original blue finish. Both silver prickers are original. Triggers are the original. Actions on both pistols are crisp and function properly. Bores are both pistols are fair as they were likely fired. Ramrods appear to be the original. Pistols are cased in an elaborate period brass bound revolver case with split ring in lid. Accessories comprising bullet mold, wooden ramrod, flask with shell decoration.
