Steel barrel octagonal at breech and muzzle engraved with florals, vines, and heightened with gold and gilding. The unsigned lock with good floral engraving. Swan neck cock engraved en suite. Plain frizzen. Roller bearing frizzen spring. Plain steel trigger engraved with an expanded flower. Plain pricker. Steel stock engraved en suite with barrel. Cuts in engraving heightened with gilding. Steel ramrod a replacement. Original belt hook engraved en suite. CONDITION: Barrel with some very minor pitting, engraving still crisp, some gilding remaining. Stock with minor pitting throughout, some gilding remaining in engraving. Small parts on lock appear to be original. Pan is lined in gold. Pricker possibly the original. Action is excellent, as new. Bore is bright. A very attractive Scottish flintlock ramshorn butt dress pistol. MZ
