Steel barrel fluted at breech, octagonal and swamped at muzzle, finely engraved in typical Scottish fashion with scrolls. Steel stock finely engraved throughout with characteristic Scottish scroll and wriggle work. Ramshorn butt engraved with scrolls, unusual pierced pricker en suite with pierced trigger. The lock engraved en suite with stock and barrel, well signed "I.A. Michie". Hammer and frizzen engraved as well. Finely pierced ramrod an indication of trigger and pricker, is the original. Belt hook is the original engraved en suite and extremely well pierced. CONDITION: Barrel mostly smooth steel color. Stock in crisp condition with the exception of some extremely minor pitting, mostly on left side. Lock is very crisp. Some minor pitting on underside of hammer. Frizzen is good, all screws appear to be original as are small parts on lock. Action is extremely crisp. Bore is good. Basically an untouched all original mid-18th century Scottish pistol by a well known maker, worthy of inclusion in any collection of Scottish weapons. MZ
