The four stage brass barrel forming a cup at the muzzle of 3 - 1/2" diameter, touch hole bushed with iron. Flat beveled lock engraved with scrollwork on a punched ground. Molded walnut full stock carved at breech. Solid sideplate. Steel trigger guard. Spurred buttcap with skullcrusher pommel. CONDITION: Barrel is fine with beautiful turnings, steel parts pitted as consistent with marine use aboard ship. Stock with minor marks and repair to forend just forward of the lock. One chip at butt. An extremely handsome and very rare type of pistol, and this one is all original except as noted. PROVENANCE: Christies, March 27th 1996 Arms and Armour Sale, 156. MZ
