Features include round barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, V notch rear sight on rear link, thumb safety marked "GESICHERT" in the upper position, extractor marked "GELADEN", front toggle link marked "DWM" in script. On page 255 of Jan Stills book "Weimar Lugers", it explains that these commercial guns with the lazy C/N proofs were procured by the police of Canton Basel-Stadt, Switzerland in 1921. CONDITION: Gun retains 89% of the original factory blue finish and 85% of the original straw on the small parts. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Unnumbered wood checkered grips. The checkering is sharp with just a few minor handling marks. No chips or cracks. Correct tin nickeled magazine with unnumbered wood bottom. Comes in the original Swiss holster With shoulder straps. The belt loop on the holster has come loose. Import marked on the rear of the receiver "SIMPSON LTD GBURG,IL. M-P08 9X19 GERMANY" A hard to find Swiss Police Luger. RW
