Manufactured 1893, 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine with varnished American walnut stocks and crescent butt. Chambered for the .45-90 W.C.F. cartridge and finished in blue and case color. Nickel bladed sporting front sight with correct elevator adjustable sporting rear sight. Traditional two line Winchester barrel address with chamber marked .45-90 W.C.F.. CONDITION: Very fine, barrel and magazine tube retain over 95% deep original factory blue finish with losses at crowns of flats and slight wear at muzzle. Receiver retains well over 85% bright, vivid case colors with appropriate light silvering at belly. Tremendous amounts of the factory lacquer remains intact over the case colors. Hammer, lever, and buttplate all retain most all of their respective case colors and most all of the factory lacquer remains on hammer and lever as well as period dried grease and oil. Lacquer on buttplate has greatly diminished over time. Two piece American straight grain walnut stocks are very good with over 90% factory varnish with slight losses on sides of forearms and typical light losses at butt plate edges. One receiver screw is very slightly fouled from period adjustment all others remain excellent. Bore is exceptionally fine with sharp lands and grooves. Action operates properly and lock-up is solid. This exceptionally high condition antique range 1886 is accompanied by a Winchester factory letter dated April 11, 2006 that verifies and confirms the configuration. TDW
