On April 9th, 2004, when several U.S. Marines came under fire, Steve Reichert pulled off a nearly impossible feat and neutralized three insurgents with one shot, using a Raufoss round fired from an M82A3 and hitting his target through a wall. Reichert would proceed to stay on the rifle for twelve hours, providing overwatch and participating in the firefight. For this action, Reichert received the Bronze Star with a combat V and was medically discharged later that year after a run in with an IED. Mr. Reichert has since founded his own training company training some of the top fighters the world has seen. This rifle was one of Mr. Reichert's personal rifles, and was identified in a private transaction by serial number. The rifle is built on a Surgeon Scalpel long action chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, with a knurled "pineapple" bolt knob, spiral fluted bolt, 26" tapered Proof Research carbon fiber barrel ending in a six chamber muzzle brake. The action and barrel are installed in an Accuracy International AICS chassis with added forend rail for mounting night vision devices and side folding stock. Trigger is an X-Treme Shooting Products two stage. Left side of the buttstock has a DOPE chart for Mk248 Mod 1 ammo at 75% humidity in 80 degree heat, presumably what the rifle is zeroed for. Harris bipod mounted on forend. There is a section of rail on buttstock that was added to mount a monopod. Rifle is topped by a US Optics 5-25x56 with Horus H-37 illuminated reticle in the first focal plane on quick detach one piece mount with spirit level on rear ring, U.S Optics honeycomb sunshade on objective lens. The rifle has been painted by Steve Reichert in a camouflage pattern with Krylon paint. CONDITION: Very good used condition. The rifle has seen use and some of the camouflage paint job has rubbed away, mostly at sharp edges and pivot points. Bolt face has been recently replaced. Operates correctly with a fine sharp bore. If you are a collector of U.S. military firearms, a Marine enthusiast, or even a long range recreational shooter, this is a lot you cannot afford to miss. Comes with two additional AI pattern magazines. EW
