(1918) 0 Frame. Two sets of Titanic steel barrels, one 26" and the other 28" long, both with usual Parker marked matted ribs. Barrel flats have all correct factory markings and Remington repair code "RZZ3" (December 1953). Splinters are of reinforced type and are stamped "1" and "2" on loops for individually fitted forends. Case hardened 0 frame action with automatic safety and nickel plated double triggers is engraved in typical "D" style, with pointer on left and setter on right, and group of pheasant on trigger plate. "PARKER BROS" is on riband at rear of dog scenes. Scroll engraved trigger guard has serial number on tang. Lightly crotch figured American walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 - 1/8" over skeleton steel buttplate. Grip checkering is overly fancy for a "D" grade approaching that found on a grade "B" gun. Side panels are checkered, but not inset. Drop points are of usual "D" lozenge type. (SERIALIZATION ledger lists this gun as originally having 32" barrels and a straight grip.) Each barrel set has its own designated long beavertail ejector forend which have bosses on irons, but do not appear to have reinforcing bolts. (Who knows what happened at the factory in 1953?) Gun comes in an aluminum carrying case by Nasco, lined in black velvet. CONDITION: Excellent, as reconditioned, possibly by factory, retaining nearly all factory type finishes on all wood and metal surfaces, with only a few light subsequent handling marks, most notably a 1/4" ding on left side panel at top. Mechanically excellent. Case is good. MGM60.
