(1910) 28" dovetailed barrels with slightly raised game rib are engraved "Westley Richards & Co" and "London" on tops. There are 1" triangles of nicely cut open shaded scroll at breech ends. Barrel flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 15/16 oz of shot. Case hardened boxlock action with automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, and single selective "one trigger" is nicely filed and engraved with 90% coverage very nicely cut open shaded scroll. "Westley Richards & Co" is on scroll terminated riband on each side. Trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Attractive, finely marbled and lightly stump figured European walnut "Prince of Wales" round knob grip buttstock measures 13 - 7/8" over ribbed horn buttplate. Side panels with drop points have inset checkered areas with very closely spaced diamonds. Checkering at grip is of fancy pattern with spearhead intrusions. A vacant silver oval is on toe line. Matching splinter Deeley ejector forend has Deeley release. CONDITION: Very good, partially refinished, as found. Barrels retain most of what appears to be original blue, considerably worn on sides with areas of scattered pitting, and some new active rusting around muzzles. Action has traces of case color where protected, is mostly a mottled silver. Blue is considerably faded on floorplate and trigger guard, which has some scattered light pitting. Stocks retain most of what is possibly original finish, with considerable oil rubbed on, later, and with numerous scratches and marks. Checkering is lightly worn, and a bit dirty. Horn of forend tip is missing. Bores are fine to very fine, shiny with scattered light pits. Action has a touch of looseness with forend removed, tight when installed. Ejectors are in time. Trigger appears to work well. A snappy little gun that should clean up well. MGM89.
