Produced between the mid 1850s and the 1860s, the Webley-Bently was double action only (known at the time as "self-cocking"). Based on work from Joseph Bentley, and a contemporary of the Adams revolver. This pistol is a .36 caliber open-top revolver, with a 5-shot percussion cylinder and a hexagonal barrel. On the left side of the pistol is a James Kerr-style rammer for loading. Its hammer is spur less. CONDITION: The finish is a high polish factory English blue. The grips are finely checkered walnut. The rifling is sharp with some light frosting and action is crisp. Gun retains approximately 90% original factory blue with the balance simply flaked, especially on straps. It is housed in a period walnut case with flask, bullet mold, turn screw, oil bottle, cleaning rod and cap tin. Great cased set. DB
