(1952) 27 - 1/2" chopper lump barrels with slightly raised game rib are engraved "UNION ARMERA S. L. - EIBAR" and "ARMERIA BARCELONESA S.L." "BARCELONA" on tops. Engine turned barrel flats are stamped with 1952 Spanish nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers. Case hardened H&H sidelock action features automatic safety (S inlaid in gold), hidden third fastener, bushed strikers, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, H&H type hand detachable locks, double triggers (front articulated), and gold washed internals. Action is very nicely filed and hand engraved with very well done full coverage of large acanthus with floral highlights on a field of small scroll. Sidelocks and bottom of action are engraved "ARMERA UNION S. L. EIBAR" on scrolled ribbons. Single beaded trigger guard with more scroll on bow is engraved "Mo 215" on tang. Very nicely marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 - 1/2" over checkered wood butt. Stock is classically styled with drop points, point pattern checkering on diamond hand, and a sling loop on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Gun comes with a tan leather leg o' mutton case. CONDITION: Excellent, appears to have been little used and retains nearly all factory finishes on wood and metal, with some slight silvering on beads of action, and some crazing of finish on butt, along with a scattering of light marks. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. Case leather is good. Straps, handle and rear cover unstitched. MGM84.
