Very early production serial number 309 with 4 - 1/2" round barrel and single line New York Address. Full nickel finish with elegant one piece varnished walnut grips. Stagecoach cylinder scene and chambered for the .38 rimfire cartridge with 5 shot cylinder capacity. Manufactured with loading gate and ejector rod assembly. Assembly number 328 is observed on loading gate and cylinder pin. Serial number 309 is observed on frame, trigger guard, back strap, barrel, and internal grip mortise. Left side of frame marked with "COLT'S PATENT", trigger guard marked "36 CAL" as is correct as Colt did not produce a "38 CAL" die during this time frame. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with over 90% of the factory applied nickel finish remaining. Losses are at muzzle and forcing cone. Original wedge is not numbered and several screws are slightly fouled. The varnished walnut grips are exceptional with most all original finish remaining. The action is crisp and properly functioning. Bore is very fine. TDW
