Rock Island Armory registered receiver M-2 Carbine manufactured by National Postal Meter with IBM Corp barrel. Converted to full-auto with the “2” in “M-2” overstamped over the “1” at some point in the past. Many M1 carbines were converted to select fire machine guns by the U.S. government as part of their updating and rebuild program after World War II. Others were converted by civilians and registered. Electronic registry shows manufacturer as “ROCK ISLAND ARMORY”. Round bolt and flip-type safety. Four-rivet upper handguard. No magazine present. Accessories comprise green web “Lift the dot” sling and oiler. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent dull arsenal refinish with some slight thinning at the contact points of the bolt and charging handle. Mechanics are fine. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is fine. Wood is fine, lightly sanded and refinished with numerous light handling marks and no discernible cartouches. This is a select fire machine gun. These M2 carbines are light and handy with readily available ammunition. Just a great recreational machine gun!
