Lot consists of (A) 1914 production U.S. Springfield 1903 Rifle with correct Springfield 3-14 barrel. Bolt appears to be Remington production, as is the stock. This rifle was most likely restocked in the early 1940s to supplement use in World War 2. Canvas sling is dated 1944. CONDITION: Overall good. Metal has light wear in areas with a nice patina on the receiver. Bolt retains most of its original finish. Stock is very good with light handling marks. There is an arsenal repair on the receiver tang. Bore with shootable rifling left. Sling is very good. (B) 1934 Production 1903 Springfield with a 4-33 production Springfield barrel. Rifle is missing its bolt. Some of the stock parts are Remington production. Stock retains no U.S. acceptance marks. CONDITION: Overall good. Metal has light wear in areas, but still retains 75% of its original finish. Buttplate has more wear and light speckling at the top. Stock has minor dings and scratches, but is solid overall. Bore is very good overall, with plenty of rifling left. Box is from the CMP dating to the late 90's or early 2000's, and is in excellent condition. This pair of rifles would make an excellent addition to any historical shooters collection. JA
