Circa 1905-1925. Island front sight with blade foresight and folding moon sight. Quarter rib with silver line express sights with distances marked in gold. Standing sight is 100 yards, two folding leafs at 200 and 300 yard sights, respectively. Dovetail lump, 26" barrels with rib extension, doll's head, third fastener. Barrel flats with appropriate period London nitro proof marks and "MADE IN ENGLAND" on short rib. Barrel legends are, on right barrel, "MANTON & CO, GUN MAKERS. CALCUTTA & DELHI. BY APPOINTMENT TO H.E. THE VICEROY."; left barrel reads "'360 NO 2. 3'. 55 GRAINS SMOKELESS. 320 GRAIN S.N.S.P. BULLET". Splinter forend with lever release, case colored, point pattern checkering, matching serial number on iron. Metal work for action with case color finish with profusely applied gold inlay, approximately 85% coverage. Case colored water table with serial numbers and London view marks. Bushed strikers. Ejectors, in time. Both sides of action engraved "MANTON & CO.". Double triggers, non-articulated. Trigger guard, long tang, and top lever are blackened. Metal case colored hardened pistol grip cap with engraving/gold inlay. Long tang to pistol grip. Pistol grip with point pattern checkering. Automatic safety. Shadow line cheekpiece. Silver style orange rubber recoil pad, measuring approximately 3/4". Stock of European walnut with point pattern checkered pistol grip. Eyes for sling on buttstock and also on barrel. Vacant stock oval. Accompanied by a leather case with reproduction Manton label in lid and accessories comprising a two part metal cleaning rod, leather sling, two snap caps for .450-400, and oil bottle. 17 Bertram Bullet Co. .360 No. 2 brass cases, fired, reloading dies,and load data. CONDITION: Barrels with 90% bluing with some mottling to edges and high edge wear, going somewhat plumy towards breech. Action metal slightly proud of trigger plate on left side. Forend and buttstock with some minor handling marks. CP
