Manufactured from 1880-1888 for a total production of approximately 5,000 rifles, this unique deluxe grade version has to be considered one of the finest in existence. Full figured highly finished one piece walnut stock. Checkered round knob pistol grip. High polish blue receiver and trigger guard. Nickel plated bolt, hammer, forearm cap, trigger, and buttplate. Fire blue screws. 25" half octagon to round barrel with fluted rib to full length magazine tube. Front carbine style barrel/magazine band with dovetailed front sight. Fold down ladder express, rear barrel sight. During inspection, matching numbers found on receiver, barrel, stock, and trigger guard. CONDITION: Near mint overall. 97-98% bright original blue on barrel, magazine tube, receiver, and trigger guard. 98% original nickel plating. Wood is near mint showing very little wear. Bore is bright. Action is tight and crisp. Overall, this example would be most difficult to improve upon. -MKS-
