Manufactured 1955, Springfield M1 Garand with SA 4-55 dated barrel in original shipping box and accompanied by certificate Dated Oct, 16, 2009 from the CMP listing the rifle as a M1 Garand in New/Unissued condition. This rifle was sold through the CMP as being produced for shipment to Greece and only a very few were ever returned to the United States in this Unissued/New condition. Most, if not all the small parts are Springfield marked. Period correct gas plug, sights and trigger guard. Stock has U.S. acceptance mark. Box is probable CMP shipping box from the late 1990s, early 2000's. Foil tape that was over sights is included and is in the box. CONDITION: Overall excellent. Metal is excellent with 99% of its original finish. Stock is excellent. Bore is excellent. Muzzle gauges 2, throat gauges 0. Box is excellent. An excellent Greek contract Garand for your collection.
