Among Regina made clocks, the Style 3 was the most popular between 1895 and 1905. Towering over 9 ft. tall and available in a variety of cabinets, both plain and ornate, this example is housed in an elaborately detailed oak cabinet. Equipped with a standard Regina 15.5" duplex comb movement in a Seth Thomas tall clock, this Regina musical clock would automatically play upon striking the hour, or by pressing a button on the side at anytime. However, this clock has a very rare feature, a never seen coin slot, where the music could be played by depositing a penny at any time. The Bowers Encyclopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments refers to only one known example of the Regina Style 3 Musical clock with a coin slot that had been in a hotel lobby for years. The origins of this clock are unknown as it was purchased from an estate in 1989. The clock is in original finish, and is not restored. The music box plays well and it operates on a coin however the free-play button and automatic feature require a dry cell battery or voltage converter to operate. The quartered oak cabinet is in very good condition with a small repair to the center top finial on the clock. It splits into three sections, and contains storage for extra discs. Several discs come with the clock. Clearly a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of Regina's earliest of musical accomplishments.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
