c. 1890's. At a full 24" tall, this cast metal cigar cutter with lamp lighter is in amazing detail. A figural paper boy under a gas lamp, which is an oil lamp used for lighting cigars with the wick supplied on the end of the fire hydrant top that lifts off. The paper boy is holding a news paper reading, “Extra, fine cut chewing tobacco, best in the world, for 5¢.” Embossed advertising on three sides, and with a cigar cutter built into the base. The lamp is marked "Broadway" With the original drawer for emptying the cut cigar tips. This fantastic sutter is in original finish, and has not been touched. The castings are crisp, detailed, and with no breaks or cracks. With all original componentry and with a ruby red globe. A fantastic cigar cutter/lighter befitting the best collection.
