This 1897 vintage Colt rifle, serial number 81744, has a standard full round barrel with a 15 shot full length magazine tube. Barrel is marked with Colt's Hartford address and ".32 Cal" at the breech. Colt standard "buckhorn" style rear and blade front sights. Standard plain walnut stock and forearm with oil finish. CONDITION: Very good overall with approximately 85% original blue on frame, top and lower tangs turning brown. Crescent style buttplate mostly brown patina. Barrel has approximately 85% blue mixing with a blue/brown patina, some light pitting and oxidation at muzzle. Forearm has approximately a one inch square piece of wood missing from bottom. Stock is refinished and shows little wear. Bore is good with moderate pitting. -MKS-
