Very rare, high condition Yugoslavian M-56 machine gun. This Eastern Bloc gun appeared after World War II and was a replacement for the many heavily used wartime Ppsh-41’s that were in service at the time. It incorporates a tubular folding stock, folded metal trigger, and front sight hood reminiscent of the German MP-40. The magazine and top ejection port resemble those of the Russian PPSh-41 and PPS-43, and the receiver tube cap is reminiscent of the Beretta 38/43. It incorporates a simple and reliable push-through selector above and forward of the trigger, and a simple forward bolt lock which disengages when one depresses a tab at the front of the bolt handle. Four 35 round magazines are included. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original matte finish with assembly numbers on receiver and barrel, and attractive Yugoslavian crest at top of receiver. This is a registered receiver select-fire machine gun. Mechanics are crisp. Magazines are extremely fine with some handling marks. Bore very fine, shiny and bright. Bolt very fine. This gun is a blast to shoot! Many shooters describe it as a “MP-40 on steroids” due to the higher rate of fire and power of the 7.62x25mm cartridge. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
