c. 1945. Catalin Sentinel 284 'Outline Grill' radio in oxidized marbleized butterscotch with red trim. This radio was made by The Sentinel Radio Company of Evanston, Illinois. Known to collectors as 'outline grill' Sentinel, the designers surely drew inspiration from the automotive world. Along with the Catalin speaker grill surround and the slant front frequency indicator, the dial glass allows for easy viewing from above the radio as well, and acts as an additional architectural touch to make an already attractive radio into a true work of art. Original knobs, no cracks, chips or burns, with original back panel. Lights and noise.
