Superb condition Auto Ordnance, Bridgeport manufactured Thompson M1A1 machine gun with classic World War II grey-green finish. Marked “U.S. Property” behind the rear sight, with Thompson bullet logo forward of the sight and typical M1A1 markings with “JA” (“F” not easy to discern) and “GEG” markings as well as “P” proof at top of smooth barrel. Gun includes two original G.I. 30 round magazines (U.S. Cartridge Co and Seymore), and two Bridgeport 20 round magazines. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent, original finish with some slight loss of finish to gray patina where the charging handle rides in the receiver slot and along the high ridgeline of the upper receiver just below the charging handle. Bolt is a gray patina. Mechanics are crisp and positive, with a near excellent bright shiny bore and extremely fine bolt face. Wood is extremely fine with light handling marks and a small grain check on the right side where the horizontal stud passes through (barely discernible). This is a select fire machine gun. Wonderful attractive M1A1 for the discerning World War II collector. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2020-05-007
