This is a stunning coin-operated dual bird automaton made by Blaise Bontems in 1880. Very well constructed as a terrarium, with habitat backdrop to two beautiful birds that have great sound and operate flawlessly. The terrarium style display has kept the elements away from the birds and as such, they are in remarkable condition for being 150 years old. This Automaton was shown and featured at the 1893 Chicago exhibition and has been featured in the Christian Bailly book on "The Golden Age of Automita". Has keys.

Condition: (Excellent).
