Lot consists of a MAS 36/51 and 49/56 rifles. (A) MLE 36/51 manufactured by St. Etienne. Left side of the receiver reads "MAS MLE 1936-51" and bears the import stamp "7.5 FRANCE C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT." Matching numbers include the receiver and the bolt. Floorplate does not match. Grenade launcher and launcher sights are present. Buttstock appears to be a replacement. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal applied parkerized finish, showing some minor nicks and scratches all around. Bore is bright and retains good rifling throughout. Wood components show handling and storage marks all around. (B) MLE 49/56 manufactured by St. Etienne. The left side of the receiver reads "MAS MLE 1949-56/ CAL. 7.5". Additionally, there is a "P 85" stamp, indicating refurbishment in 1985. Receiver is import stamped on the left side and reads "C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT./ 7.5 FRENCH FRANCE". Compensator and grenade launcher sight are present. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied finish, showing minor nicks and scratches all around. Bright mirror bore, with good rifling throughout. Wood components show some marks from handling and storage. A nice lot of 20th century French rifles. MLW
