Lot contains: (A) German WWII Kriegsmarine pith helmet constructed in a tan canvas with light age wear and staining. A olive green cotton lining covers the interior and crown, and only exhibits light staining. Leather sweatband band is in tan leather with light wear and stains, has a maker mark embossed on the band, and is stamped "57" and "ORL 1941" in black ink under the sweat band. Helmet trim is a medium tan with moderate wear. Brown leather chinstrap is attached with light edge wear, with brass fittings with patina. National colors are an unusual variant and retains 95% of its painted finish, the the brass KM eagle emblem retains 95% of its finish, and in the same style as the colors. CONDITION: Excellent plus. (B) German WWII Kriegsmarine foul weather cap in an olive cotton canvas in unissued condition. This type of cap was worn by U-Boat and surface warship crews. Interior presents a "1940", WaA320", and "WILLY SPRENGFPEIL MUTZENFABRIK, HAMBURG 19" in black ink stampings. Center seams inside are treated with waterproofing, with a tan cotton chinstrap.
