Luftwaffe EM/NCO white piped "Hermann Goering Divison" cap made in a blue gray wool, and other than some very light moth tracking on each side, the wool appears to be undamaged. The black ribbed fabric center band and white HG branch piping exhibit only very light wear. The aluminum enlisted eagle and wreath/cockade are original to the cap, with patina. The black vulkanfibre visor presents very light wear, with the underside in a green crosshatch pattern. The visor is loose with approximately 30% of the thread intact. The enlisted chin cord is attached with the usual heat damage. The interior is fully lined in a light golden-brown rayon with light staining. Maker stamping of "J. SPERB HUTE MUTZEN, REGENSBURG" is on the head liner under the sweat shield, which is intact with no visible damage. An era name tag identifying the wearer as "Flg Sepp Pommerl" assigned to the "3. Pz. Pi. Komp." is under the sweat shield. The medium brown leather sweatband has heavy damage with 40% of it missing on the front. Consignor has provided several photos of the HG veteran wearing this cap, as well as personal correspondence with the veteran, and letters from the "Deutsche Dientstelle (WASt)" confirming the military duty of the HG veteran. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. WZ
