Lot contains: (A) German WWII M40 Luftwaffe single decal helmet marked "SE62" for the maker "Sachsische Emailler", in a shell size of 6, with a lot number of "1183". Shell retains 85-90% of its original rough blue-gray paint. Interior retains approximately 95% of its rough blue-gray finish. Both the remnants of a national color decal (10-15%) and the Luftwaffe decal (90-95%) are recent reproductions. Original zinc liner band is present and appears to be untouched. The light tan leather liner and the chinstrap are reproductions. CONDITION: Overall excellent. (B) German WWII M40 Heer helmet marked "Q66" on the inside rear skirt for the maker "Quist", in a shell size of 66, with a lot number of "4340". Shell retains 85-90% of its reissue rough gray-green paint with age patina which gives off a white appearance. That patina is not present under the chinstrap on the front rim and does not appear to be white winter camouflage. Interior retains approximately 75% of its smooth gray-green finish, with freckling. No decal is present, nor can it bee seen under the rough paint. Original aluminum liner band is present and is untouched. Pigskin leather liner size marked "58" is dry with fraying on the front edge, and has two areas of damage consisting of the leather being torn between several tongues. Original drawstring is present. Original chinstrap with steel fittings is present, and is dark with light damage. CONDITION: Overall very good. WZ
