German WWII Heer M40 three-color spayed "Normandy" style camouflage helmet marked "Q62" for the maker "Quist", in a shell size of 62, with a lot number of "DN390". Shell retains 50-55% of its era applied three-color sprayed camouflage. The camouflage is in the colors of tan, green, and dark brown, with heavy freckling in the worn areas. Interior retains approximately 75% of its untouched smooth gray-green finish with freckling, especially under the rim. On the rear inside skirt is a label which states "Found on D-Day Normandy +2 June 8, 1944 by Private. John Shelkin 29th Inf. Div. 121 Combat Engineers - Tonawanda, N.Y.". Entire liner assembly has been replaced with an original zinc liner band, and a reproduction leather liner and drawstring. The buckle end of the chinstrap is attached.
