Fallschirmjager helmet shell marked on inner left side "ET71" for the maker "Eisenhuttenwerke Thale", in a shell size of "71". An illegible lot number is present on the inside rear skirt, but in an off off-center location and not stamped in the same quality as the maker/ size stamping. The shell retains its base color of rough gray-green, and there is some tan paint over the outside of the shell which is visible in some small worn areas. It is unknown, but is unlikely, if the tan paint was wartime applied. No decal is present. The entire shell, inside and outside, has been postwar painted in a medium green paint, and the shell retains approximately 75% of that paint. The original aluminum liner band shows traces of that paint. The inside bolt nuts and remnants of the chinstrap also have been painted. While the helmet bolts and nuts are original, the chinstrap remnants are postwar and have brass grommets. An original shell, liner band, bolts, and nuts, with postwar medium green paint and chinstrap remnants. CONDITION: Overall very good. WZ

Item Dimensions: 10 - 3/4" x 9" x 6".
