Fallschirmjager helmet shell marked on inner left side "CKL68" for the maker "Eisenhuttenwerke Thale", in a shell size of 68, with a lot number of "4229". Shell retains 90-95% of its rough gray-green paint. Interior retains approximately 95%. No decal is present. Original zinc liner band is present and the original leather liner is also present. The liner assembly has been removed and rebuilt. The leather exhibits moderate wear and cracks, and has been treated.The liner pads have been replaced and are not wartime original. The seven sets of double 1/4' thick foam rubber pads are dark red, and while they have been sewn to the zinc band, they have been glued to the liner. The helmet crown pad appears to be original. The chinstrap assembly is wartime original and added postwar. The helmet retains three slotted aluminum bolts, each with one of its aluminum nuts. A M40 Heer helmet style liner rivet in rough gray-green paint is present on the left side to retain the chinstrap and liner assembly. A rebuilt helmet with original parts, with the exception of the post war liner pads. CONDITION: Overall excellent. WZ
