German WWII Heer M18 transitional double decal helmet. Shell retains 60-65% of its original smooth apple-green paint with freckling on the remaining surface. The number "211" is stamped on the top, and several light dents are present. Interior retains approximately 45% of its untouched smooth apple-green finish with heavy freckling. Heer decal is in 70% condition, the national colors rate a 65%, with both having era applied lacquer, and damage/ scratches. Removable leather carrying harness assembly, with era fittings, is over the helmet, and has been there for a long time. Original aluminum liner band is present and is untouched. M31 liner is complete, untouched, in a medium brown color, with moderate fraying around the rim and some aging. Original drawstring is present. Unusual chinstrap is attached, with steel and aluminum fittings, with moderate wear. CONDITION: Overall very good. WZ
