Marked on left side of magazine well "HK 53 A 134231 / Cal. .223 / (German Nitro Proof) IC (Ulm Proof)". IC date code for 1982. Right side of magazine well with "Made in Germany / HK Inc. / Arl . Va. 22201". Rear of receiver with "M. Rollender / Concord, MA" near rear stock pin hole. 4 position diopter drum rear sight, hooded post front sight. HK flash hider. A3 style retractable stock with wide ventilated forearm. Bolt head with "IB" date code for 1981, German nitro proof and "Z", bolt carrier with IB code. 3 position trigger back (0/1/25), with false third selector and false pin. Added paddle magazine release. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Terry Dyer listing this this rifle by serial number as inspected, refinished, and upgraded by him in 2001. CONDITION: Very good as professionally converted. Refinishing has left some legends somewhat softened. Retains the vast majority of finish with some marks from handling and operation. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling, bolt face is very good with some light evidence of use. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS A SHORT BARRELED RIFLE. EW
